responsibilities

  • Lead Activities
    Guide and supervise a group of 11–17 year olds through daily adventures like climbing, kayaking, team games and more. Keep the energy high and the experience fun.

  • Encourage Participation
    Inspire every camper to get involved, try new things, and challenge themselves—whatever their ability or confidence level.

  • Ensure Safety
    Always prioritise the safety and wellbeing of campers. Follow risk assessments, camp policies, and emergency procedures.

  • Promote Positive Behaviour
    Set the tone by modelling respect, kindness and teamwork. Support campers in resolving conflict and building positive relationships.

  • Clear Communication
    Communicate confidently and professionally with children, team members, and parents—keeping everyone informed, supported, and in the loop.

preferred skills & experience

  • Outdoor Experience
    Confidence leading or participating in activities like kayaking, hiking, climbing, or bushcraft.

  • Leadership Skills
    You’ve led groups before—whether in a camp, classroom, or club—and know how to keep things safe, fun, and focused.

  • Certifications
    First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard, or Safeguarding certifications are a big plus (or willingness to get them).

  • Experience with Young People
    You know how to connect with kids and teens, encourage them, and manage group dynamics.

  • Qualifications

    Archery, bushcraft, climbing (e.g. NICAS, SPA), paddlesports (e.g. paddlesports instructor or equivalent). Mountain biking leadership or outdoor education qualifications.

  • Experience working with International Students

  • Residential or Expedition Programme Experience
