Safety at Camp
Your child’s safety is our number one priority. We have strong systems in place to ensure they’re well cared for, supervised, and supported every step of the way—from drop-off to bedtime. Here’s how we keep your child safe at our residential summer camp:
Pre-Camp & Daily Safety Procedures
Pre-Camp Safety Checks
Before kids arrive, we carry out detailed risk assessments across the entire site. We inspect dormitories, communal areas, and outdoor zones to ensure everything is safe and ready. Fire exits are checked, alarms tested, and first-aid kits are fully stocked.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedures
We take attendance at the start and end of each day, and also every time we move between locations. Only authorised adults may collect your child, this keeps every child safely accounted for at all times.
Safe, Supervised Accommodation
Kids sleep in comfortable, dormitory-style rooms in one of three secure buildings. Staff stay within the accommodation block or nearby to provide overnight support without sharing rooms, with regular night-time checks to make sure everyone is safe and resting. Boys and girls are housed in separate rooms. Our team is always nearby—day and night. Staff are DBS-checked and receive intensive training before camp begins. This includes safeguarding, emergency response, and first aid training, so they’re fully prepared to care for your child in every situation.
Continuous Care & Monitoring
Constant Headcounts & Supervision
Our team conducts regular headcounts—after meals, between activities, and at night—to ensure your child is safe and present. Leaders are always nearby during transitions and group activities, offering support and structure throughout the day.
Emotional Wellbeing & First Aid
If your child feels unwell, gets injured, or needs a moment of support, our trained staff are ready to respond with care. We handle physical and emotional needs calmly and always keep parents informed when necessary.
Health & Emergency Care
Medication & Health Needs
We collect all medical information ahead of camp and securely store any medication your child requires. Our team follows clear protocols to administer medicine safely and monitor ongoing health conditions.
Emergency Preparedness
Our staff are trained for fire drills, medical emergencies, and unexpected situations. Roles are clearly assigned, and regular drills ensure we can respond quickly and effectively to protect every child in our care.
Parent Communication & Support
We keep all parent and emergency contact details securely on file. If there’s an update or concern, we’ll contact you right away via phone or email. If we can’t reach you, we’ll contact your listed next of kin. You’ll always be informed and involved.
