Summer Adventure Camp Activities: Water Sports Your Child Will Love

At Educamps Adventures, water activities are a big part of the week, not just for fun, but for building confidence, teamwork and independence.

All sessions are instructor-led and take place on the lake at Foxlease Park, New Forest, UK

Here’s what your child can expect:

Canoeing (in pairs)

Your child will share a canoe with a partner, learning how to paddle together and steer across the lake.

It’s a calm, supportive introduction to being on the water, deal for building confidence.

Focus: teamwork, communication, coordination

Kayaking (solo)

In kayaking, your child is in their own boat.

They’ll learn how to paddle, balance and control their movement independently, with guidance from instructors.

This is where confidence really grows.

Focus: independence, resilience, control

Raft Building

Your child will work in a small group to build a raft using ropes, barrels and wooden poles — then test it on the lake.

It’s hands-on, problem-solving, and always a highlight of the week.

Focus: teamwork, creativity, problem-solving

Water Park

This is the high-energy session.

Your child will take on an inflatable obstacle course on the water, climbing, sliding, balancing and jumping in.

It’s fun, challenging and great for pushing comfort zones in a safe environment.

Focus: confidence, physical challenge, fun

Why it matters

These activities aren’t just about keeping busy.

Your child is:

  • Trying new things in a safe environment

  • Building confidence step by step

  • Learning to work with others

  • Gaining independence away from home

Some children arrive unsure about water, by the end of the week, they’re often the ones encouraging others.
